Living in the Hill Country

Native Plants
This is the Hill Country.  Our soils are very alkaline and even imported soils will lose any acidity the first time you water with our limestone filtered water. Native and well-adapted plants will not have to be on a regimen of sprays, more carefree.

Turning Dirt Into Soil
Bed prep is everything.  It’s better to put a fifty cent plant in a five dollar hole than a five dollar plant in a fifty cent hole.  Central Texas soils are mostly clay and must be amended with organic compost and coar
se sand.  This allows the plant’s roots to get established immediately and support the rapid growth of lush new foliage.  Our bed prep process has been very effective.
