The Process:
  1. Initial Consultation: Discuss scope of the work, expectations and the working relationship which is very important.
  2. Agreement: If your expectations and my service offerings are a good match then we can agree to do business.
  3. Bed Design: The shapes of the beds will be ‘sketched’ in the existing lawn for customer approval.  Irrigation pipe and edging can be added at this point.
  4. Bed Prep:  First, the turf is removed and the soil is turned to a depth of 6-8 inches. Then 2-3 inches of sand and compost is added and tilled into the existing soil.
  5. Plant design and approval: This is a complex step and requires customer involvement.  Schematics of the plan are provided and approved.  Container size is determined at this point.
  6. Installation: The selected plants are now placed into the new beds.  It is common to make minor changes to the design to accommodate spacing needs.
  7. Drip Irrigation: If drip irrigation was selected then it is installed at this point.
  8. Mulching: A layer of 1-2 inches of mulch is added to complete the job.
No “up front” money
On smaller jobs invoicing is done when the installation is done to satisfaction. On larger jobs invoicing is done twice. The first invoice occurs after bed preparation is complete. The second when the installation is done. Irrigation and other special requirements may be billed separately.
